The Marlowe Year
Although each year is different in terms of what shows we fund, the Marlowe produces a number of events that run every year. We also organize workshops each term, as advertised on our term card.

The Marlowe Showcase (Michaelmas)
In Michaelmas, graduating actors audition for the opportunity to perform in the Showcase, which is presented both in Cambridge and London. The Showcase is directed by a professional director. Agents and scouts attend the Showcase, and many of our alums have eventually signed with representation as a direct result.
The Arts Show (Lent)
The Arts Show is our biggest and most ambitious show every year. Performed at the beautiful Cambridge Arts Theatre, it is a tradition dating back to 1936. We hire a professional director and designers, each of whom takes on student assistants to teach and mentor. It is an unparalleled chance for students to perform on a professional stage and gain real-world experience for their future careers.
Hatch (Throughout the Year)
In addition to verse, the Marlowe is committed to fostering new writing among the university community. To that end, we organize Hatch nights for writers to experiment with their works-in-progress. Students submit 10 minute pieces, and we choose a line-up and find directors and actors for each. Informal and fun, Hatch often helps writers to clarify or expand pieces for future full-length productions.
